Born on August 13, she was held by grandmother Harue Nakayama as the family proceeded along the East Corridor to the Main Sanctuary. Masae was also accompanied by grandparents Zensuke and Michiko Nakata and Shuji and Emiko Kamikawa along with other relatives.
